Kenyan schools are mid-way through the move to competency-based education, with junior school now inside the basic cycle and KNEC assessments at Grade 6, Grade 9 and KCSE. CloudNotte gives a school one place to keep learner records, run assessments, track fees in shillings and keep parents informed, whether it is a private primary in Nairobi or a boarding secondary upcountry.
The calendar, the exams, the grading, the money and the law your school already lives with — handled, not worked around.
Three terms a year (January–April, May–August, September–November) with half-term breaks, following the Ministry of Education calendar. Schools set their own dates each year.
Rubric-based performance levels (Exceeding, Meeting, Approaching, Below Expectation) for CBC classes and mark-based grading with KCSE-style letters and points for secondary, both configurable per class. Cumulative records, class and subject rankings and teacher remarks are automatic, and report forms can be printed or published to parents online.
Fees are set per class and per term in Kenyan shillings. Each learner has an invoice and a balance; M-Pesa, bank and cash payments are recorded against it with automatic receipts and reminders. Online collection inside CloudNotte depends on our payment partners' coverage in Kenya — ask us before relying on it.
The Data Protection Act, 2019 and the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner's guidance apply to learner and staff data. CloudNotte provides per-user logins and roles, an audit trail and full export of the school's data.
Internet is good in towns and patchy elsewhere. Offline CBT runs exams on a local computer with no connection and syncs later; the rest of the platform works on slow connections and on phones.
Results line up with the bodies your school answers to.
Kenya Primary School Education Assessment under the CBC; learner records and assessment history carry into junior school.
Junior school assessment; rubric-based scores and summative results are kept in one gradebook.
Senior secondary leaving exam with A–E grading and points; report forms and transcripts use the same scale.
Formative and summative assessments, opener/mid-term/end-term exams, and CBT practice papers.
Start with results or fees and switch on the rest when you are ready. It is one product with one login.
