Common questions
It's a desktop application that creates a locked-down exam environment. Once the exam starts, the app runs full-screen and blocks tab-switching, copy-paste, external applications, and browser shortcuts, preventing cheating.
Yes. We recommend installing and testing the client at least 24 hours before the exam. Installation takes under 5 minutes. Students can verify their webcam and microphone work using the pre-exam checklist built into the app.
Yes, macOS builds are notarized and Developer ID-signed. You may see a brief Gatekeeper check on first launch — this is normal and takes a few seconds.
The client requires an internet connection to authenticate the candidate, download the exam, and sync answers. However, answers are also cached locally, so brief network interruptions during the exam do not cause data loss.
The exam is paused and the proctor is notified in real time. The candidate has a configurable grace period (set by the admin) to re-verify before the session is flagged or auto-submitted.
