- 2 x 1 = 2, 2 x 2 = 4, 2 x 3 = 6, 2 x 4 = 8, 2 x 5 = 10
- 3 x 1 = 3, 3 x 2 = 6, 3 x 3 = 9, 3 x 4 = 12, 3 x 5 = 15
- 4 x 1 = 4, 4 x 2 = 8, 4 x 3 = 12, 4 x 4 = 16, 4 x 5 = 20
- 5 x 1 = 5, 5 x 2 = 10, 5 x 3 = 15, 5 x 4 = 20, 5 x 5 = 25
- To multiply 2-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers:
- Multiply the tens digit by the 1-digit number
- Multiply the ones digit by the 1-digit number
- Add the two products together
Examples:
- 14 x 3 = ?
- 10 x 3 = 30
- 4 x 3 = 12
- 30 + 12 = 42
- 25 x 2 = ?
- 20 x 2 = 40
- 5 x 2 = 10
- 40 + 10 = 50
