CONTENT 

The Presentation of Jesus in the Temple: The presentation of Jesus in the temple took place when Jesus was just 40 days old. Mary, Jesus' mother, and Joseph, his father, took Jesus to the temple in Jerusalem to present him to God. This was in accordance with the Jewish law, which required every firstborn male child to be dedicated to God.

People Present at the Presentation: The following people were present at the presentation of Jesus in the temple:

1. Mary: Jesus' mother, who had given birth to him just 40 days earlier.
2. Joseph: Jesus' father, who had taken Mary to the temple to present Jesus to God.
3. Simeon: A righteous and devout man who was waiting for the Messiah. He had been promised by the Holy Spirit that he would not die until he had seen the Lord's Christ.
4. Anna: A prophetess who was also waiting for the Messiah. She was 84 years old and had been a widow for many years.

Explanation: When Mary and Joseph presented Jesus in the temple, Simeon took Jesus in his arms and praised God, saying: "Lord, now you are releasing your servant to depart in peace, according to your word. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the presence of all peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel" (Luke 2:29-32). Anna also came up to them and gave thanks to God, and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.
