Previous knowledge : :Pupils are familiar with basic rules and safety practices in physical education classes and other sport.
CONTENT
Swimming is the movement using arms and legs to float inside the water. That's , the use of one's entire body to move through water. People swim for sports or fun or in an open water such as river or lake.
ldentification and Explanation of Basic Swimming Skills
1. Floating: is the ability to stay on the water surface without sinking. Example: Lying flat on your back with your arms and legs spread out.
2. Breath Control:is the ability to manage your breathing while swimming. Example: Inhale through the mouth before dipping underwater, exhale through the nose or mouth while underwater.
3. Kicking: is the movement of the legs to propel the body forward in the water. Example: Flutter kicks while lying on the stomach or back.
4. Arm Movements (Strokes) : it helps move the body through the water. Example: Arm movements like alternating strokes in front crawl or a circular motion in breaststroke
5.Treading Water: is a technique to stay upright and move in water without sinking. Example : Alternating arm and leg movements to stay upright in water.
Presentational steps :
Step i. Teacher revises the previous topic with the learners
Step ii. Teacher introduces the new topic to the learners
