Classification of Animals
1.Mammals: Animals that have fur or hair and give birth to live young ones. Examples: Dog, Cow, Goat, Human.
2.Birds: Animals that have feathers and lay eggs. Examples: Chicken, Parrot, Eagle.
3.Fish: Animals that live in water and breathe through gills. Examples: Fish, Crocodile, Shark.
4.Reptiles: Animals with dry scaly skin and mostly lay eggs. Examples: Snake, Lizard, Tortoise.
5. Amphibians: Animals that can live both on land and in water. Examples: Frog, Salamander.
Common Uses of Animals in Nigeria
1. Food: Animals like cows, goats, and chickens provide meat and milk for humans.
2.Clothing: Animals like sheep and goats provide wool and leather for clothing.
3.Work: Donkeys, horses, and oxen are used for carrying loads and plowing fields.
4.Medicine: Some animals, like snakes, are used in the production of medicine.
5.Companionship: Dogs and cats are kept as pets for companionship.
