Presentation Part 2: Tenses
1. Present Tense (Now)
The table is made of wood.
The shoes are made of leather.
2. Past Tense (Before)
The table was made of wood.
The shoes were made of leather.
3. Past Continuous Tense (Was/Were + ing)
Explain simply:
It shows an action that was happening in the past.
Examples:
The carpenter was making a table.
The workers were making shoes.
Guided Practice
Ask pupils to change sentences:
The chair is made of wood → (past)
→ The chair was made of wood
The shoes are made of leather → (past)
→ The shoes were made of leather
The man makes a table → (past continuous)
→ The man was making a table

Pupils work in pairs:

Then change to past:
