Lesson Outline:

Introduction 

Engage students:

Ask, “Has anyone ever seen an insect in your house? What kind of insect was it?”

Show pictures of common insects and ask students to name them.

Introduce the topic: “Today, we are going to learn about harmful insects and how they can cause problems at home.”

Instruction 

Explain Harmful Insects and Their Damage:

Cockroaches: They spread germs, cause allergies, and sometimes eat food.

Ants: Some ants can invade food and make homes in walls or floors.

Termites: They can damage wooden furniture, doors, and walls.

Flies: They carry bacteria and can spread disease by landing on food.

Bedbugs: They bite and cause itchy red spots.

Mosquitoes: They can spread diseases like malaria and dengue.

Discussion:

Ask questions like: "Why are these insects harmful?" and “What do you think happens when they invade our homes?”

Highlight the damage: Talk about how these insects can damage food, cause allergies, or destroy furniture and buildings.

Prevention and Control:

Cleanliness: Keep your house clean and free from food crumbs or waste.

Seal entry points: Close windows and doors properly to keep insects outside.

Use natural repellents: For mosquitoes, you can use citronella or lavender.

Call for help: If there’s an infestation, ask an adult to get rid of the insects properly.
