1. What are Animals?
Animals are living things that can move, eat, grow, and reproduce.
Unlike plants, animals can usually move from place to place.
Examples: Dog, cat, cow, bird, fish.
2. Types of Animals
A. Domestic Animals
Animals that live with humans and depend on them for food and shelter.
Examples: Cow, goat, dog, cat, chicken.
B. Wild Animals
Animals that live in forests, jungles, or the wild and are not tamed.
Examples: Lion, elephant, tiger, zebra, crocodile.
C. Water Animals
Animals that live in water like rivers, lakes, or seas.
Examples: Fish, turtle, shark, dolphin.
D. Birds
Animals that have feathers, wings, and can usually fly.
Examples: Parrot, eagle, sparrow, pigeon.
Basic Needs of Animals
Animals need the following to survive:
Food – to get energy.
Water – to drink and stay alive.
Shelter – a place to live and be safe.
Air – to breathe.
Animal Habitats
Forest: Lion, tiger, elephant
Farm: Cow, goat, sheep
Water: Fish, turtle, dolphin
Air/Tree Tops: Birds like parrot and eagle
