This is the production and composition of packages used to wrap finished products. The exterior of the package design must show the name of the product, in such a way that it will attract targeted audience or clients.
Process And Methods Of Packge Design Step i. This is the stage of making a sketch of the package. Sketch as many as possible.
Step ii. Select among the thumbnails, the several sketches made are called thumbnails
Step iii. Do a colour rough of more than three sketches, and colour the sketches diferently bearing in mind the audience or clients the package is made for. Step iv: Select the best among the colour rough using the opinions of sampled audience or clients.
Step v: Develop the best selected as the prototype of the package which will serve as the final design. Remember that in package; design is not just about making packages. It is also about making them better by making them. Simpler. Quicker. Cheaper. More efficient. Durable. Less damaging to the environment. Manageable. Portable.
Functions Of Design On Packaging
i. It enhance the quality of the product.
ii. It makes the product more marketable.
iii. It increases durability by protecting the product From damage.
iv. It serves as a brand name
v. It is used to draw the interest of the buyer.
vi. Good packaging enhance patronage.
vii. It helps to convey Message or impression in a most convincing way.
viii. It gives public or corporate image to a brand
