The Oworo are youruba speaking people who are located in Kogi state. The speak Yoruba dialect called Oworo language.The men are know for farming, and hunting. The women specialize in weaving of cloth called Arigidi, a cotton textile. They also weave abata (aso ipo), a red textile used for burial right of importance people. The major festival of Oworo people are Oluwa and egungun, agbo masquerade festival
The Yakor
The Yakor are group of people located in cross river state. Loka is the language spoken by the Yakor people. The Yakor are mainly yam farmers. They also cultivate order crops like cocoyam, corn , palm oil, okra and pumpkin. Yakor was founded by a women called Obia(which means visitor in Igbo languages)
The Isoko
The Isoko are a distinct ethnic group made of seventeen clans. They are located in Delta state. The seventeen clans are: Aviara, Ellu, Emede, Emevor, Ozoro, Uzere, Oyede, Owhe, Okpe, Olomoro, Oleh, Ofagbe, Uyede, Igbide, Umeh, Enwe. They speak Igbo language.
The Isoko ancestors migrate from Benin kingdom about 17th Century to found the isokoland.
The Itsekiri
The Itsekiri are in Delta state. They refer their land as the kingdom of Warri or "Iwere". They speak the Itsekiri language. The Itsekiri are predominantly fishermen.
The Awori
The Awori are located in Lagos and Ogun states. They speak the Awori language. The Awori are a sub group of the Yoruba. They are fishermen and live at the water bank. Prince Olofin (son of oduduwa) was the founder of Awori settlement in 1832. Awori means the plate sank.
