Part 1: Phonics – 4 and 5 Syllable Words
Definition: A syllable is a single, unbroken sound within a spoken word, often called the "beat" of the word. Every syllable must contain at least one vowel sound.
1. Examples of 4-Syllable Words
Words with four beats are called quadrisyllabic words.
Al-li-ga-tor (Al / li / ga / tor)

2. Examples of 5-Syllable Words
These words have five distinct beats.

Syllable Division Tips:
The Chin Method: Put your hand under your chin. Each time your jaw drops while saying a word, it is one syllable.
Vowel Count: Count the number of vowel sounds (not just letters) to find the number of syllables.
Part 2: Structure – Punctuation Marks (Uses of Capital Letters)
Capital letters (uppercase letters) are used to show that a new idea is starting or to identify specific names.
Key Rules for Using Capital Letters:
Example: The sun rises in the east.
Example: My friend and I went to the park.
Examples: Mary, Lagos, Nigeria, Monday, April.
Example: Doctor Smith, Miss Bella.
Holidays and Nationalities:
Examples: Christmas, Nigerian, English.
Part 3: Composition – Table Manners
Table manners are the rules we follow to be polite while eating with others. Following these rules shows respect for our family and friends.
Guidelines for Good Table Manners:
Chew with your mouth closed so others do not see or hear your food.
Never talk while there is food in your mouth; it is impolite and can cause choking.
