SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to :
* Identify the different musical notes with their shapes and signs .
* Clap each of their beats and counts correctly.
* Plot a table containing each note with their different names, values, beat number, and rest signs.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: musical manuscript, pencils, erasers, rulers, textbooks, pictures of great and grand staff, video clips on the rudiment and theory of music
NOTE
Music notation is a visual record of musical sound or a set of visual instructions for the performance of music.
EVALUATION: 1. Define the term ‘Music notation’
ASSIGNMENT
What are the musical notes and their values ?
CLASS ACTIVITY: Pupils in pairs plot a table containing each note with their different names, values, beat number, and rest signs
CLASSWORK: As in evaluation.
CONCLUSION: The teacher commends the pupils positively.
