Common Illnesses in the Community:

Some common illnesses found in our community include:

• Malaria: caused by mosquito bites, symptoms include fever, headache, and vomiting.
• Diarrhea: caused by contaminated food and water, symptoms include loose stools and stomach cramps.
• Tuberculosis (TB): caused by bacteria, symptoms include coughing, chest pain, and weight loss.
• Measles: caused by a virus, symptoms include fever, cough, and rash.

Immunization:

Immunization is a way to prevent some illnesses by introducing a small, harmless piece of a virus or bacteria into the body. This helps the body to build a defense against the illness. Examples of immunizations include:

• Vaccines for measles, polio, and tuberculosis.
• Immunization against malaria through mosquito nets and insecticides.

Importance of Sanitation:

Sanitation is crucial in preventing the spread of illnesses. This includes:

• Keeping our environment clean by disposing of waste properly.
• Washing our hands regularly with soap and water.
• Using clean water for drinking, cooking, and personal hygiene.
• Avoiding close contact with people who are sick.
