Meaning of the Staff
The staff is made up of five lines and four spaces. Music notes are written on the lines and spaces.
The Treble Clef
The treble clef is the first clef we learn in music. It is also called the G clef. It shows us where to place notes on the staff.
Lines of the Staff (Treble Clef)
The five lines of the staff have letter names. From the bottom line to the top line, they are:
E – G – B – D – F
To help us remember, we say: Every Good Boy Deserves Food
Spaces of the Staff (Treble Clef)
The four spaces also have letter names. From the bottom space to the top space, they are:
F – A – C – E
The word spells FACE.
