Objective:
Students will identify people in their lives who deserve respect.
Students will understand why respecting others is important.
Materials Needed:
Chart paper or whiteboard
Markers
Flashcards with pictures of people (teacher, parents, doctors, firefighters, elders, classmates)
Storybook about respect
Lesson Outline:
1. Warm-up
Start with a friendly greeting.
Ask: “How do you feel when someone says ‘thank you’ to you?”
Discuss briefly that respect makes people feel happy.
2. Introduction
Show flashcards or pictures of different people (parents, teachers, police, doctors, friends).
Ask: “Who do you see in these pictures?”
Explain: “These are people we should respect because they help us or care for us.”
B. Activity:
Draw a “Respect Tree” on chart paper.
Ask students to name people to respect, and write each answer as a leaf on the tree.
4. Wrap-Up
Summarize: “We respect people who care for us, teach us, help us, and are our friends and family.”
Ask students to give one way they will show respect today.
Questions with Answers

Answer: Teacher or school helpers.
