Explain that words like a, an, and the are called articles and they come before nouns.

Definition of Article
An article is a word used before a noun.
There are two types:
Definite article
Indefinite articles
1. Definite Article: “The”
The word “the” is called a definite article.
Usage:
It is used when talking about something specific or already known.
Examples:
The old woman is here again.
The baby from the next compound is crying.
The programme has just commenced.
👉 Example idea: If a man visits your house today and becomes known, next time you call him the man.
2. Indefinite Articles: “A” and “An”
Indefinite articles are a and an.
Usage:
They are used when talking about something not specific or unknown.
Examples:
A man is here to see you. (unknown man)
Get me a cup. (any cup)
Difference Between “A” and “An”
“An”
Used before words that begin with vowel sounds (a, e, i, o, u).
Examples:
an umbrella
an airplane
an antelope
an egg
an igloo
an oak
“A”
Used before words that begin with consonant sounds.
Examples:
a house
a school
a pencil
a book
a table
a bed
