Introduction
Ask pupils:
What do you do when you wake up in the morning?
What do you do before going to bed?
Explain:
Just like we wake up in the morning and sleep at night, a computer must be started and shut down properly.
Presentation
A. Meaning
Starting a computer means turning it on so it can work.
Shutting down a computer means turning it off properly so it can rest safely.
B. Steps for Starting a Computer
Press the power button on the CPU or laptop.
Wait for the computer screen (monitor) to light up.
Wait until the computer is ready to use.
(Tell pupils not to press many buttons.)
C. Steps for Shutting Down a Computer
Click the Start button on the screen.
Click “Shut Down.”
Wait for the screen to go off.
Explain that we must not just press the power button to turn it off unless the teacher says so.
Class Activity
Let pupils practice pointing to the power button.
Demonstrate starting and shutting down the computer.
Ask volunteers to repeat the steps aloud.
Conclusion
Review the steps again.
Let pupils repeat:
