Teacher asks pupils:
Have you ever fallen down and got hurt?
What did your parents or teacher do to help you?
 

Explain simply:
First Aid is the first help we give to someone who is hurt or sick before a doctor comes.
 

Presentation 
Simple First Aid Situations
-Small Cut
Wash the wound with clean water.
Cover it with a clean plaster or bandage.
-Burn
Put the burn under cool running water.
Tell an adult immediately.
-Nose Bleeding
Sit down and lean forward.
Press the nose gently.
-Fall or Bruise
Rest the injured part.
Tell a teacher or parent.
 

First Aid Items
Show or mention common first aid items:
Bandage
Cotton wool
Plaster
Antiseptic
Clean water
These items are kept in a first aid box.
 

Activity 
Show pupils a first aid box and its items.
Let pupils practice pretending to put a bandage on a small cut.
