1. Taskbar: a long horizontal bar at the bottom of a desktop

3. Wallpaper: the background screen of a desktop
4. Start button: a button found on the lower left part of the desktop
5. System tray: where you can find icons belonging to some of the program's that are currently running
6. Quick launch bar: Provides an easy way to launch a program with just one click
Common icons found on the desktop
1. My Computer:gives access to anything saved in the computer hard drive
2. Recycle bin: a temporary storage place for deleted files
3. My Network places: Provides access to network resources
4. Internet Explorer: used to surf the internet
