DESCRIPTION OF EACH TYPES OF TEETH
INCISOR- They are the front teeth. Four each on the upper jaw and lower jaw making it eight.
CANINES – They are the sharp pointed teeth next to the incisors on both sides. Four in numbers, two on the lower and upper jaw each
PREMOLAR- They ae next to the canines on both sides. They are eight in numbers, four each on the lower and upper jaw
MOLARS- They are last teeth next to the premolars. They are twelve in numbers ,six each on the upper and lower jaw
USES OF EACH TYPE OF TEETH
INCISOR – It is used for biting and cutting food into pieces
CANINES – It is used for tearing and cutting
PREMOLAR- It is used for grinding and chewing
MOLAR- It is used foe chewing and grinding
SETS OF TEETH
TEMPORARY (MILK) TEETH- This is the first set of teeth in children.
PERMANENT TEETH- This is a set of teeth in adults or grown ups. An adult has a total of thirty-two teeth.
THE TONGUE
The tongue is the organ in the mouth that we use for tasting. With the tongue, we know something is sweet, sour, salty, or bitter.
ROLES OF TONGUE
To support movement of food in themouth
To mix food with saliva to soften it
To support swallowing of food into the gullet
THE LIPS
The lips are two edges of the mouth. they give beauty to the faces
USES OF LIP
They protect the teeth and tongue from being exposed
They support the food from pouring out of the mouth
