Comprehensive Class Note: Understanding God in Nursery 2

Introduction to God

Welcome to our lesson on God, designed specifically for Nursery 2 students following the Montessori and Nigeria curriculum. Today, we're going to explore who God is, His attributes, and why He is so special in our lives. Can you think of someone who loves you no matter what, someone who is always with you even when you can't see them? That someone is God. Let's learn more about Him and how He loves us so much.

Comprehensive Core Concepts

Who is God?

God is the Creator of the universe and everything in it. He made the sky, the earth, the sun, the moon, and all the beautiful things we see around us. But most importantly, God created us, and He loves us very much. God is like a father who always wants the best for His children. He is kind, loving, and always ready to help us.

Attributes of God

Love: God loves us so much that He sent His only son, Jesus, to save us. This shows how much God cares about each and every one of us. For example, when you fall down and scrape your knee, your parents or guardians rush to help you, clean your wound, and make you feel better. Similarly, God's love is always there to help and comfort us.
Kindness: God is kind to us every day. He gives us food to eat, clothes to wear, and a place to live. He also gives us our families and friends to love and care for us. Think about the last time you received a gift from someone you love. It made you happy, right? God's kindness is like that gift, but it's always there, every day.
Omnipresence: This means God is everywhere at the same time. No matter where we are, God is with us. We can always talk to Him and ask for His help. Imagine you're on a trip with your family, and you feel scared or lost. You can always call out to your parents for help. Similarly, God is always there to listen and help us, no matter where we are.

Why is God Important in Our Lives?

God is important because He helps us, guides us, and loves us unconditionally. We can talk to God through prayers, and He listens to us. God also helps us to be good and to do the right things. He wants us to love and care for each other, just like He loves and cares for us. For instance, when you're feeling sad or upset, talking to God can make you feel better. It's like having a best friend who is always there for you.

Real-World Examples

Let's think about how God's love and attributes are seen in our daily lives:

Sharing with Others: When you share your toys with your friends, it shows kindness, just like God's kindness to us. It makes everyone happy and strengthens our friendships.
Helping at Home: When you help your parents with chores, it's a way of showing love and care for your family, just like God cares for us. It also helps keep our home clean and happy.
Praying Together: When we pray together as a family or in school, it's a way of talking to God and thanking Him for all the good things in our lives. It brings us closer to God and to each other.
